Statistics at a Glance

The Central Statistical Office announces the release of its Statistical Pocket Digest 2001. This is the twenty-eighth in the series and is intended to provide timely and factual information concerning several important aspects of the country in a summarized form to facilitate quick and easy reference.

This digest includes statistical data on Population by Area, Ethnic Grouping and Religion, Health, Vital Statistics, Education, Economic Indices on Prices, Income, Manufacturing and Sales, Trade, Government Revenue and Expenditure, Gross Domestic Product, Balance of Payments, Money and Banking, and Travel and Tourism. Information is also provided on production of selected commodities on agriculture, water production, electricity generation, registration of motor vehicles, and newspaper circulation.
