The chart above illustrates the number HIV/AIDS related deaths in Trinidad and Tobago since such records were first kept in 1985. In this year the figure was 1.02 deaths from this disease per 100,000 population.
By 2001 this tally peaked at 42.70 per 100,000 population. With the advent of improved care, anti retroviral drugs in particular, in tandem with numerous awareness campaigns, this figure has decreased to 24.57 per 100,000 population in 2005
