The data illustrated above show that Trinidad and Tobago’s annual output of natural gas rose from 97,653.0 million cubic feet in 1960 to 322,627.5 million cubic feet in 1997, representing a relatively gradual increase over this thirty-seven year period.
However in 2006 this figure peaked at 1456537.5 million cubic feet, a steep increase of 1133910.0 or 77.8% in nine years. However in 2007, the country witnessed the largest one year decline in natural gas production as the figure fell to 841366.7 million cubic feet, 42.2% less than the previous year.
